The story of the Străjerii Verzi begins a maximum of 3 hours away from Bucharest, in a village in Brașov County, a place with scattered houses on the tops of the hills, between Piatra Craiului and Bucegi, a place where time stands still and impresses on your retina the beauty of the place .

But Şirnea is not just a place, it is the first tourist village in Romania, taking this title in 1968 thanks to Nicolae Frunteș, a biology teacher at the village school, who initiated a large-scale campaign to promote the beauties of the place among foreign tourists.

Străjerii Verzi is a place that offers tranquility with all the comfort that any of us would want. The strong mountain air invites you to rest a lot, but there are also a multitude of sought-after activities in the area, namely mountain hiking on Piatra Craiului, walks on the many marked bicycle routes, horse riding and tastings of traditional cheeses, especially the specific bellows cheese mountain herds, and meat dishes, especially meat in lard in a jar.
